Day by day
Day 1
You will arrive in Chiang Rai, were you will meet your tour-leader Note that you have to arrive to Chiang Rai at latest at noon this day, You will meet your tour leader 13.00 and then take a local bus to Chiang Khong (approx 2 hours ride). After completing border formalities, you will take a small boat across the Mekong River to Houay Xai, your first stop in Laos.Day 2
After breakfast you will board the slow boat for the trip down the Mekong River.
This part of the journey will you go with the normal passenger boat. It can be a little bit crowded but on the other sid will you get a better picture of the living conditions for Lao people. In the late afternoon you will arrive at Pakbeng.
Day 3
In the morning you take a local bus to Udomxai, 130 km, a small town which is the hub and a stepping stone that opens up northen Laos for exploration.
Day 4
You will take a bus to Muang Khoua, where you will continue with boat 4-5 hours to the small village Muang Ngoi.
Day 5-8
Day 9
In the morning will you take boat to Nong Khiaw were you will take a local bus to Luang Prabang.
Day 10-11
The town is on UNESCO.s world heritage list and in Luang Prabang you will find many buddist monasterys, temples and other beautiful houses. One highlight is to visit the old Royal Palace.Day 12
In the morning you take a bus through a breathtaking landscape to Laos charming capital Vientianne.Day 13
One day in Vientianne. Take the opportunity to visit Tat Luang, the most important sanctuary in the
country or just walk around and enjoy and go to a restaurant and eat delicious lao
food.Day 14-16
You take a bus from Vientianne in the morning to Hin Boun and there will you live close to the river Nam Hai. For two days will you explore the area and among other things make a boat ride through the 7 kilometer long Kong Lor Cave.Day 17
Bus to Lak Sao once an important place on the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail during the Vietnam war. Today is it a small sleepy town surrounded by beautiful mountains and the last outpost in Laos before entering Vietnam.Day 18
In the morning you take a bus ride up the mountain to the vietnamese border there you meet your vietnamese tour leader After passing the border you take a bus to Vinh where you catch a train to Danang and then continue by bus to Hoi An.Day 19-21
In Hoi An can you rent a bicycle and go to the country side, enjoy food i restaurants or just relax on the beach.The last day you take a bus to Danang where you catch the night train for Hanoi.
Day 22
One day in Hanoi, on of the most pleasant capitals in Asia. Visit museum of ethnology, the Army museum, the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum or take the opportunity to just stroll around in the city. Enjoy and getDay 23
