Day by Day


Day 1

Meeting at our hotel in Delhi.


Day 2-3

Train to Bharatpur and Keoladeo Ghana National Park, one of the worlds finest bird sanctuaries. Here are all wading bird, herons, storks, pelicans, cranes, darter and kingfishers. December is the breeding period and in January, the kids doubled the number of inhabitants. In addition, there are several species of deer, otters and python. You can bike or hike through the park.


Day 4

Bus to Agra. A visit to the mausoleum Taj Mahal, is a must, as well as Agra Fort. In the evening night train to Katni.


Day 5-7

Bus to Bandhavgarh National Park, one of India's most famous national parks. The landscape is hilly with grass meadows,bamboo and monsoon forests. The chances to spot a tiger are very good. Other animals you can see are; chital,sambar, barking deer,barasingha, monkeys and leopard. Due to safety you are not allowed to walk in the park, you get around the park by jeep.


Day 8-10

Morning train to Varanasi, the holy city for both Hindus and Buddhists and the center of North Indian culture. It is open to tens of thousands of pilgrims to get some of the divinity of the holy river Ganges. The religious intensity is high and going down to the river early in the morning is fascinating. Night train to Kolkata.

Day 11

An exciting day in Kolkata, that previously only was associated with misery, has changed dramatically during the last years. You find a rich cultural life and a rich history.


Day 12

In the morning you start off by bus for the border. Here your Bangladeshi tour leader will be waiting for you. For those really interested in nature Sundarbans - the largest mangrove unbroken forest of the world and situated at the Ganga/Bhramaputra estuary - will be an experience for life. At the same time we will try to make it into a small introduction to Bengal culture. You can say this is an exclusive cruise and at the same time a rare opportunity to experience mangrove forest.

You will board the boat M.V. Chhuti. The boat has 20 berths in cabins for two or four in each. Food and drinks on the boat is included.
The boat will begin the cruise following the Bhairab River to the south. At Chandpai Forest station lying on the edge of the forest. Immediately you will start for the forest. Two armed forest guards will stay with you for the whole journey.

Day 13

Early morning you go by paddled country boat, a dinggy, downstream close to the forest. Here you can see kingfishers, herons, large monitor lizards, perhaps a crocodile and often-chital deer.

Day 14

You will be walking on vast meadows. The chances of getting a glimpse of a tiger is very slim indeed. Your best chance to see a tiger is when it is crossing a river. You will see herds of spotted deer and wildboar. Lots´s of birds; herons, beaters and kingfishers of different species. You will also use the dinggi to penetrate into narrow creeks to really get close to the mangroves.

Day 15

Before breakfast you are doing a new tour in dinggy. At low tide you can go ashore and try to make your way through the mangroves. Then it will be a long walk over the meadows and along the beach. In the evening you take the boat to the north.

Day 16

Arrive Khulna in the morning and take a public bus to Dhaka. Now you will get an idea of the Bangladeshi rural scene and also cross the Jamuna River by ferry. The ferry across the river takes 2.5 hours.

Day 17

A Day in Dhaka. The traffic is chaotic and the congestion in the old parts of the river port is so overwhelming that it becomes an adventure.

Day 18-19

You fly to Kathmandu in Nepal. You will stay in Bhaktapur, 16 km outside of Kathmandu. Bhaktapur is a small, traditional town without modern buildings. The royal palace is outside the hotel window, as well as the temple where the locals conduct their morning rites.

Dag 20-22

By bus to Chitwan National Park in South Nepal. You explore a beautiful national park, with crocodile, bear, tiger, leopard, birds, deer and rhinos. You get to see animals best during longer hikes, but moving by canoe or elephant are options. Chitwan is an Eldorado for the nature enthusiast.


Dag 23-24

Return to the Kathmandu valley. Again you stay in Bhaktapur.


Dag 25

Tour is finished.
