medtages på resan / bring on the tourDay 1
Arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan airport. At the immigration you purchase your visa (60 days validity). Cost is 40$. You need two pp size photos. Bring this amount in cash. In arrival hall you should change and get a few thousand in Nepalese currency. Use your card at the ATM in the arrival hall. It may be a little chaotic outside the airport, many taxi drivers and hotel representatives will try to get your attention and your money. Try to find a friend and share a taxi to your hotel. The cost can be in the range of 500 - 700 NPR. You are now in the Kathmandu valley. Unlike most other visitors, you will not stay in Kathmandu. Instead in the ancient town of Bhaktapur, a typical Newar community. This small town is much quieter than the city of Kathmandu, which is bustling with tourist trade, commerce and heavy traffic. In Bhaktapur you can see craftsmen working in their shops or in the street. The Hindu religion is practiced around the temple grounds outside your hotel during mornings and evenings. Go for a walk in the evening and you will hear small orchestras playing outside the temples. Here little has changed during the last 200 years. A lot of tourists visit Bhaktapur during daytime, but mornings and evenings are quiet. You can reach Kathmandu 16 km from Bhaktapur, in 45 minutes, by bus, minibus, or taxi. Price of ticket is quite nominal. However all local buses stop running around 8 pm. After that you have to take a taxi. You will stay at a guesthouse situated inside the old town of Bhaktapur. It has a splendid location facing the old courtyard and several temples. There are two ATM machines just outside your hotel.Day 2

By bus to Chitwan National Park. You will stay at a lodge in the village of Saurah, which is
situated six kilometres from the main road (at Tandi Bazar). From Bachhauli you will have to walk
about two km to the guesthouse while the luggage will be taken by oxen cart. You will stay in a
guesthoue in Chitwan, one of the most interesting national parks in South Asia. Here you will
easily see many rhinos and different species of deer. There are also crocodiles (marsh mugger and
gharial), sloth bear, leopard and lots of birds. With luck you may catch a glimpse of a tiger. As
Saurah is the only place in Chitwan where all foreigners are accommodated you will find a lot of
organized activities. You can ride elephants, make short walks in the forest, go by canoe along the
river to look for crocodiles or rent a jeep. We strongly recommend you to devote at least one full
day to make a long walk in the park in a small group with a local guide. This option gives better
chances to see wildlife. For safety reasons it is not permitted to walk in the park without a guide.
Strong legs, endurance and knowledge are requirements for seeing the famed South Asian fauna.Day 17
Return by bus by the old road to Kathmandu. Stop for night at Daman at 2800 m. The place is famous for its views. In the the morning you can see the whole Himalayan range from Everest in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west.Day 18-19
Return to Bhaktapur. There are a lot of interesting things to buy in Kathmandu valley. There is a wide range of handicraft of high quality. Nepal has lately developed a small industry for sportswear. Some of these Nepali made products are of very high quality. But you also find cheap Chinese made stuff. Prices are minimal!Day 20
Tour ends. This detailed information about the trek, the people, flora and fauna of the area has been provided by our tourleader Padam Ghale.
On this trek the lunch dinner and breakfast will cost you approximately 1500 rupees per day per person (SEK 130 kr). The villagers will serve you with hot boiled water.
This trek is filled with cultural and ethnic variation. Most of the people are Gurungs and Magars. But there are also Damai, Kaami, Bahun, Chhetries and many other ethnic people. Most of them are farmers. They are typical Nepali people. So you will be happy to see them working on their fields. This trek is very rich in the ethnicity. In Spring there will be rododentrons and other flowers. In Autumn you will see the harvest.
This trek is spectacular for its viws. Ranges like Manasalu range, Boudha himal, Lumjung himal, Machhapucchre, Annapurna range can be seen on the way. So you will always be surrounded by these high peaks.
Also an interesting thing is that in this area the people have cultural committee. This committees performs a cultural group dance for visitors. They show their culture dance that has been passed down to them from their ancestors. Now they are trying to preserve it by showing it to foreign visitors.. But we have to inform them earlier before the trek, so that they will be ready for it. This cultural dance can be seen at Ghale Gaun, Pasgaun, Bhujung and also in other places. They will charge the money according to the group size so if the group is small then the price is low and if the group is big then the price is higher. We can have these cultural dance shows in any place we want.
In this tour we also have a Museum of Gurung society in Ghale Gaun. This museum is in a small house filled with Gurung treasures collected from their ancestors.
Also a great thing about this trek is that the villagers here grow tea by themselves. These villagers don't drink the composite tea. This is pure organic tea. You will see the tea garden along the way.
One most important thing is that when talking about the home stay trek all of the group won't be able to stay in a same house. The group will be divided among 3-4 people in one house. So they will be separated at the lunch time. Villages are small so they will be able to meet each other at any time.
Also in some places we have to get a pack lunch because they don't have lunch facilities. And sometimes we have to send our men to inform to make the lunch before us so that we can have lunch.
After reaching the Pokhara we will stay 2 nights. Tour leader will be there to help you in every way. The city of Pokhara is very beautiful and renowned. It is said to be the heaven on earth. The Pokhara city is our pride. It is one of the beautiful and greatest place in the whole world.
Then we will move on to Chitwan. Then the rest of the program is as usual as before but with a twist that is one night stay at Daman. It is one of the classic and famous view points of mountains in Nepal. You can see many mountain ranges from Everest to Annapurna range. The main attraction point is the Sunset and the sunrise. We will be staying at 2300m but there is a pass of about 3000m. So from there we can see every Mountain View. This is the oldest highway from Kathmandu to India.
I want to tell you about why I put a night at Daman when returning from the Chitwan. It is possible that we can come directly to Bhaktapur from Chitwan. But the new Highway road is very busy and filled with vehicles. So sometimes there is a traffic jam and some problem on the way. But the way from the Daman is one of the oldest roads. So, few people travel from this road. But everyone wants to spend a one night of their life in this beautiful and classic view point. This place is very renowned place.
After that we will continue our tour to Kathmandu.
