Terms and conditions
Travel guaranteeTravel guarantee 2012 is placed to the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet) by 2,5 million SEK. We also have extra liability insurance. The law of Package Tours (Lagen om paketresor) applies. We follow General Conditions for package tours with following changes and editions. For more information see www.srf-org.se
Registration fee
The registration fee is 2 000 SEK for adults and 1 000 SEK for children under 12 (on the departure date of the tour) on most of our tours. On some tours there are large prepaid costs and the registration fee is 4 000 SEK for adults and 2 000 SEK for children. The registration fee is to be paid at the latest 14 days after booking. If registering later than 60 days before tour start, the registration fee must be paid immediately.
Literature package
We send out a literature package to our travelers. Since much of the literature is in Swedish, we do not send the literature for travelers residing outside the Nordic countries. The cost of the literature package will be deducted from the final invoice.
When international flight is not included
You can see when the least number of participants on a tour is filled on our webpage, It is not advisable to book your international flight before that. If we have to cancel a tour despite the least number of booked participants, we compensate the cancellation cost for your international flight (this does not apply if the cancellation is due to so called Force Majeure, see below). If you have booked your international flight even though least number of participants is not filled, we do not reimburse the cost for cancellation of the flight.
When international flight is included
The departure destination is Stockholm when international flight ticket is included in the tour price. Some airlines allow departures from other locations. In cases where connection is included free of charge we book your flight from the nearest airport. We strongly advice against booking a non rebookable connection flight on your own. Study Tours does not take any economical responsibility for delays and timetable changes for booked regular flights. If you want to extend your stay, which might be possible, please contact us.
For travelers departing form outside the Nordic countries, it is often cheaper and more convenient to book the ticket on their own. Our costs for the international flight will in those cases be deducted form the final invoice.
Final Invoice
The final invoice is to be fully paid 31 days prior to departure. Final invoice is sent from us approximately 60 days before departure
Card payment
In our shop you can pay with a bank or credit card up to the amount of 4000 SEK. The limit is set due to that the card companies have a 3-4% fee on the total purchase amount.
Frequent customer discount and evaluation
Approximately 14 days after you tour has ended we send you an evaluation. As a thank you for answering the evaluation you receive a 500 SEK discount on your next tour with Study Tours. From your 5th tour you receive a 1 000 SEK discount.
Under 20-discount
Children and/or teenagers that, on the departure date of the tour, have not turned 20 receive a 1 000 SEK discount, for our family tours special conditions apply. Children that, on the departure date of the tour, have not turned 12 years are charged as a child on a family tour. No discount is granted. For a teenager who has turned 12 but not 20, adult price applies, the 1000 SEK discount applies.
Itinerary
You find an up-to-date itinerary for each tour on our webpage. The itinerary for each tour is preliminary. We reserve the right to make changes in the tour, due to circumstances or in order to improve the tour.
Our prices and conditions
The on the webpage, given prices apply until 31-12-2010. We reserve the right to change the price due to changes in the cost of the tour, i.e. cost of transport and larger foreign exchange rate changes. The prices are set for USD at 7,00 and a EUR at 10,30. The price for tours during the period June-August 2011 is set in the end of November 2010. Our special conditions apply during the period 01-01-2010 - 31-12-2010.
Single room addition
The given single room price applies for a single/private room in hotels and tents. During village stays, boat and train journeys single rooms can in general not be offered. You should book a single room at the same time as booking the journey and it is offered according to availability.
Cancellation of tour
Cancellation 60 days prior to departure: The traveler is charged a 500 SEK (200 SEK for children under 12) cancellation fee. The remaining registration fee is reimbursed.
Cancellation 60 days or less prior to departure date: The registration fee is forfeited.
Cancellation 31 days or less prior to departure: The traveler is charged 50% of the cost of the tour.
Cancellation less than 24 hours before departure: No reimbursement is given.
Rebooking tour
If you want to rebook a tour to another, we charge a fee of 200 SEK (100 SEK for children under 12) as well as the costs for sent literature. Rebooking less than 60 days prior to departure date, general cancellation conditions apply.
Cancellation insurance
We strongly recommend that you sign a cancellation insurance. That can be done by subscribing in addition to your general home insurance or by purchasing a cancellation insurance.
Travel insurance
You are to have travel insurance that gives full coverage in case of illness, accident and the costs for possible transportation home. This is a condition to participate in the tour! Bring a copy of the insurance certificate on the tour.
Visa and passport
A passport is required for all tours. It is important that you check that your passport is intact and valid. Specially check for any damage on the picture page. If you on the departure date do not have a valid passport and/or a granted visa for the destination, no money is reimbursed. When we arrange your visa, you are obliged to hand in passport and visa application on set due date. For documents that arrive later, we charge a fee of 500 SEK. We do not take responsibility for whether a visa application is approved in time or not. The passport is returned to the traveler approximately a week before departure date. You can apply for a visa on your own as well.
Control of travel documents
The traveler is to check the travel documents and visa them self as soon as returned from us to the traveler. Possible errors or mistakes are to be called attention to immediately.
Cancelled tour
We can cancel a tour if the minimum number of participants is not filled. If you have booked international flight despite that the minimum number of participants is not filled, we do not reimburse any cost for cancellation of flights. We also reserve the right to cancel a tour due to Force Majeure. Force Majeure means natural disaster, act of war fare/military action or strike; events that have an overall impact and could not have been foreseen. No costs are reimbursed in case of Force Majeure.
Complaints
Complaints are to be submitted immediately, during the tour to the tour leader or directly to Study Tours.
Local rules, laws and customs
The traveler is to comply with and respect rules, laws and customs that apply on location, as well as show respect and good behavior to fellow passengers and to other people. On repeated infringement of rules or misconduct, we reserve the right to suspend the traveler from the tour, the return home will then be on the travelers own expense.
